Sunday Mindfulness Practice

On the first Sunday of each month, at The Frenchtown Acupuncture Clinic,we will meet for a mindful morning of Qigong, led by Matt Branham, Chanting, led by Moira Kowalczyk, and a Dhamma talk and Shamatha/Vipassana meditation practice led by John Haspel. Matt, Moira and John are offering this time so that we all may deepen our practice and take refuge in the wonderful sangha we are so blessed to be a part of.

We will start at 9 am with a gentle 45 minutes of Qigong. When the body/mind is relaxed we are able to move in life with ease and grace.  Our ability to move with ease and grace is limited when the body/mind holds stress and tension.  Qigong is an ancient Chinese health and longevity practice that combines gentle movements, breathing and awareness to nourish the body and relax the mind.

Moira will then lead us in Buddhist chanting. Through chanting we deepen our understanding of the Dhamma and our connection to all things.

Following Qigong and chanting, we will have a dhamma talk and meditation followed by a discussion of the teachings of the Buddha, followed by a five-minute Metta (Loving-Kindness) intentional meditation. (here is a blog on Metta)

I hope that many of you will join us on the first Sunday of each month as well as Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

We suggest a $10 donation for the Sunday program. As always, all are always welcome for all of our classes, regardless of donation.

Sunday schedule: 9 am Qigong / 10:00 am Chanting / 10:15 am – 11:30 am Dhamma talk and meditation

Join us for all or part of our Sunday Practice.
